Introducing Something New- Stamp set of the Week

Introducing something new I am going to give a try: I would like to showcase a different Stamp set from Stampin Up every week. This week is one I hate to see retire, it's so pretty and versatile: Scene in a Garden

The first card is made with To the Nines Specialty Designer Series Paper, and features the word window punch and aqua marker. Don't you just love the little rain boots?

The second card features Parisian Breeze Designer Series Paper and Baja Breeze ribbon, both of which are also retiring this month.

I water colored the ground on both of these cards with the aqua painter and the new Soft Suede ink...

Paper Displays

I was working on Paper Displays for an upcoming craft show. I really liked the ones that I made for my binder, but at a craft show, I need something that will grab the attention more quickly than getting them getting customers to look at a binder, so I made up these quilt cards and used the new modern label punch to label the paper line. They arent as pretty as some of the others I made, but, I was able to get one of each papers, and both sides on there which make it perfect for display. I purchased a tri-fold display board at walmart and will put these on the board with some of my upcoming class flyers.

Trying out Brayer techniques

I just love the brayer techniques that Michelle Zindorf does. I have been trying and trying to get them just right, and usually cant, but these two are the best I have done so far! I really liked the way the first one came out, but my DS (13 yo) told me that it wasnt good enough because the sun set would be lower in the horizon. Arent kids great!!!?? So, I tried to move the second one to look like it was low in the hills but the deers face got a a lil green and well, the tree isnt as pretty.... Guess I am off to try some more...

Coaster Art

I absolutely love the Fifth Avenue Florals set! I purchased a bunch of coasters a while back with the intent to do something with them, I didnt know what I was going to make. I was kind of bored last night and decided to stamp some flowers from this set on the coaster. I like how vivid the color is. I used A little Versa Mark and Staz on, my Copics and my clear embossing powder to finish it off

Recharging your blender pens

Sometimes, my blender pens get dried out and don't blend so well anymore. I found this fantastic technique to recharge the blender pen and make them good as new, without the cost of buying a new one.

Use a 5 ounce container wide enough to hold the blender pen's inner tube
Combine one ounce of glycerin (found in any pharmacy chain)
2 ounces of water,
and 4 tsp of rubbing alcohol

Using a pair of pliers to remove the tips and cello tube from the pen and place inside the mixture

Leave the tubes soak in your covered container over night

Reassemble your pen... wala, good as new!

Home made teacher gifts

Stampin is such a fantastic hobby, not only does it relax me, it is ample work for my ADD while watching TV.
I made this cute little desk set for my son's teacher today, I love that I can put my hobby to good use! What can be better than something I love doing, is relaxing and productive??

Anyywho, I used my All in the family set for this, the original idea was from another demo on my Late Nite Stampers site. She originally used on of Lauren Meaders templates for hers, I couldnt get mine to fit right, so I just winged it and made it up as I went along. I really like the way it came out. My two older boys informed me however, that it was not appropriate for their teacher, so I guess I will have to come up with something else for them.

Free Paper Doll SVG files

Remember when we were little, we didn't have all the fancy electronics and toys they have now. We didn't need electricity to entertain us, and there were only 3 TV Channels (did I just age myself?) We could entertain ourselves outside for hours, and our parents had to tell us to come in. When it was raining, we found simple things to amuse ourselves, one of my favorites, of course, was my Barbie Collection, but I also love my Paper Dolls just as much. I remember when Woman's Day or one of my mom's other magazines came out with new outfits every month, I couldn't wait to get my hands on them! Tami, on my cricut lovers group created these fantastic paper doll princess files for use with your cricut and Sure Cuts Alot (SCAL). Be Sure to check them out!
