Hello Baby.. A card layette

Today's share is a great little "bundle of joy"! I made this cute little diaper bag  and embellished with my stash of goodies, the Teddy bear and rattle are SU stamps, cut out and glued on with dimensional adhesive.

Next up, this cute little baby shoe which can be filled with goodies and would make a great little party favor for a baby shower. I used SU paper and jumbo eyelets.

Then I made this cute little maternity shirt out of some retired SU papers (still one of my favs)

The baby mobile was made with retired SU stamps, cut out and hung from a make-shift paper hangar

Then I added a cute little onesie and dress to the layette and I couldn't resist the cute little overalls.

No layette for a new baby is complete without a cute little diaper and bib.

 And of course a cute little rattle, I plan to redo this one, the whole in the bottom wasn't centered well and I think I am going to make the top layer the same size as the bottom next time, but I have been working on these for 2 days and just wasn't ready to redo it just yet. The milk bottle is adorable, isnt it? I have seen some with the bottle markings, but I had this got milk paper in my stash and figured it was perfect for the bottle.

The next card is a great little stroller or pram, again, all SU supplies.

And this little baby sneaker is just too darn cute, I had to add it to the mix.

Finally, this adorable baby dresser card, I embossed it with an embossing die in my sizzix, stamped the bear and added him on, I think I will make some more of these, they are just too darned cute!

All 12 cards (everything but the 3D baby shoe) fit inside the diaper bag, and I am just pleased with the whole layette of cards. Which one is your favorite? Don't forget the blog candy I am offering for the closet of clothes template, be sure to leave your comments.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Bloggers and Facebook Family, it's ridiculously early Christmas Morning, but I am still up with my usual insomnia, merrily stamping away the early morning hours, even procrastinating getting those last gifts wrapped and under the tree. Just a few more Christmas Cards to share: One more using Candlelight Christmas DSP, yep, I am still using the same half a pack I started with ( I think I am up to 12 so far, but I have seen one stamper who gets 35 from half a pack, I have some work to do, although I am still working at it)

The second card is my version of a Blue Christmas, or maybe even a white Christmas, which we will rarely have here in El Paso, don't get me wrong, I am not really a fan of the snow, If I could have a white Christmas and have it merrily melt away Christmas Night, that would be the perfect scene for me! Anywho, I digress, I got a little carried away with this blue Christmas card, a little too much going on here, I know... I started with and idea and just got carried away, trying to add dimension to it....  The good news is, I have some ideas using what did work and I will get rid of the rest... Live and learn right...


Now, off to get those last couple of gifts wrapped.. or.... maybe I will just stamp a few more cards... at least two of my three heathens are still up and digital, got stay up awfully late.. or is it early? to stay up past my kids to wrap those last few gifts..

It's Christmas Eve and the kids are all plugged in as usual, so I am happily stampin away while watching "A Christmas Carol" on the tube. I am so loving pinterest, I could spend all day on there getting inspiration for cards I will never create ;) I am still using my first half back of Candlelight Christmas DSP and loving all the inspiration I am finding. My craft room is a disaster and my sweats are all inky and glittery and there is nothing I would rather be doing, whilst my children are busy with their own passions except maybe spend some time with my special someone, who is out of town with family this week and so, this is the best "me time" I could ask for!

 All cards were created using Candlelight Christmas DSP, which of course, is available here. The top right is rolled DSP punched with various sized circle and scalloped circle punches, the top left is simply scalloped circle punches wrapped around a hand drawn tree, the quilt card to the left is a Top Note die and the bottom card was just a simple bunch of squares, all of these cards were inspired by others seen on pinterest.

My Card Closet

I have been working on this for a while now, I am excited to share with you my closet of cards.

The closet is a standard sized A2 card box, I used Natural Composition DSP to line the closet and give it a natural wood look, some retired corduroy brads as door knobs and some ribbon to keep it closed. In retrospect, I would have made one door a little larger, to overlap and a temp adhesive or some velcro to keep it closed, but I was making it up as I went along.

 Of course every girl's closet needs a dress and an evening gown and these two beautiful pieces were a pleasure to make, I pleated day dress using some retire DSP and an embossed Brushed Silver Dress with velum pleats, both adorned with Pearl Basic Jewels.


 Next up, a pretty little embossed vellum nighty, kissed with some smooch spritz and a retired edgelits punch

A pretty set of pink undies and bra, embossed and trimmed in black lace (retired punch) . Below is a sexy little number in Very Vanilla, embossed in pink and trimmed with some lacy ribbon which will be available in the new Spring Catty.

A pretty little hat, also adorned with some trimmings from the new spring catty and lastly, no girls closet would be complete without a hot pair of shoes, embossed with clear embossing powder for that patten leather look.

Candlelight Christmas Cards

Happy Christmas Eve! Just a few cards I was inspired to crank out this morning using up my Candlelight Christmas DSP, I still have a ton of it left and haven't even cracked into the second half of it yet.  These are all pretty simple, nothing spectacular, but sometimes simple can be pretty, right? I don't usually think of browns when I think Christmas cards, but this early expresso sure does look pretty.

I used Greetings of the Season stamps and Bells & Boughs for stamps and all the Valentines cards using the Hearts a Flutter Framelit Dies inspired me to do a Christmas card using the flag-looking die.

There is also a snowflake punch and Northern Flurry Embossing Folder, The Ivy Embossing Folder was a Sizzix, but not a Stampin Up!

Santa Baby... A little something naughty for Christmas Eve

This template has been around for a long time and I couldn't resist a little Christmas Fun, I actually saw a cute little set in JC Penney's the other day that inspired me to make the card versions of Christmas Bra and Panties.

So, A little Candlelight Christmas DSP and Santa Baby will be a happy Man,  I used a Stamp from Greetings of the Season Set and the Artisan Embellishments that you will be able to purchase in the new Spring Catty, next month.

Stampin' Up! demonstrator site and onlin

Merry Christmas Eve! My Sleep schedule is wacked, so, I am blogging in the middle of the night. I guess it really doesn't matter too much, since my kids informed me that they will be awake at 0500 to open Christmas presents tomorrow, lol. Just a quick share of a project from the demo website. I will be back later with a great project I have been working on and I am very excited to share it with you!

Book to Look Cake

While tooling around in Hobby Lobby, I came across this great metal cake try and knew as soon as I saw it that I would make a book to look cake that I had seen on Split Coast Stampers.





I have been working on this for two days and am very pleased with the way it came out, despite my, now purple fingers... This entire cake is made of paper and each wedge opens to reveal a prize when a Stampin Up party is booked. So, if you would like to look inside this beautiful purple cake, book a party with me! I used a template from Stampin Up! I used only the middle layer, the template calls for 11 pieces, but, I had to use twelve to make it fit perfectly on my cake pan.

 I actually used some retired Pink Card stock and retired DSP for the pie pieces,  Cottage wall has always been one of my favorites. But, the purple DSP on top of the pink paper just didn't look right (I didn't know what look I was going for when I started.) So, Eventually, after covering the top of each of pieces with the beautiful purple DSP from Cottage Wall collection, I used my Rich Razzelberry ink and some rubbing alcohol to Stampin Spritzer and happily sprayed away until all my pink card stock turned this beautiful razzelberry color. The flowers are the white paper daisies, which I also sprayed with both razzelberry and pink pirouette to give them a little dimension and the buttons are from sycamore street collection which will be available soon in the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

I am really pleased with the way it turned out, it has been drying all day (Since I got so carried away with the Stampin Spritzer ;) I used my dryer to help it along, but I didn't want to ruin the integrity of the cardstock so that the pieces could be opened later. Even my teenage sons were impressed with my book to look cake, what do you think?
