Introducing: Photopolymer Stamps by Stampin' Up!

I'm excited to announce...Stampin' Up! is introducing a cool new Photopolymer stamp choice.  Download: Photopolymer Flyer
stampin up, dostamping, dawn olchefske, demonstrator, Designer Typeset photopolymer stamps, transparent, clear stamps
What is it and what makes it so great?
  • They're entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks and are easy to place just where you want them
  • They're age tested. They won't yellow or cloud up over time.

They are starting off with one stamp set and plan to offer a new one each month on a trial basis.  Now Stampin' Up! offers options for every kind of stamper: wood-mount, clear-mount, and now photopolymer!

I cant wait to try these out!

A CASE of By the Tide

As I am certain I have mentioned before.. I love the ocean, I love being in the water, looking at all the beautiful colors so far below, looking at the varied sea life............... Alas, I currently live in El Paso, so... I have to live vicariously through TV, Great Vacations and well... Stampin

This card is a complete CASE from Amy Celona, she recently had a class in PA (my home of origin) which featured this set and the masking you see here..... I loved it so much, I decided to give it a whirl. Mine has a little different effect from hers, but is very similar and I am still happy with it.... The last minute coral at the top was meant to be a little lighter but, I am still happy with it. I think I may go back and for a re-look at my painters tray from the other day and implement something more like this, somewhere in there... I have been wanting to use the sponged ocean picture a little bit lower in the tray anyway..... Ideally, I would love to use the two center spots for the blue ocean, but I am not really sure how that will look.. More to come.

Ears to you!!

I have seen this set done in color and they look great, but I just think of chocolate bunnies when I see it, what about you? Do you see chocolate or do you see color?

I tried a little spring colors, but they just don't feel as good to me as the chocolate bunnies. I also tried a little mix of dark chocolate and milk chocolate and white chocolate, but I just couldn't get the white chocolate to come out... So.... I went with some caramel instead and I actually think this is my favorite of the three... what do you think?

More of the Open Sea

It's official, I have gone Open Sea Crazy, I just love this set too much! I played with it for a long time over the past two days, I just couldnt get it out of my head that I wanted a moon, it turned out more like  a sun, but After about 50 failed attempts, this is what I came up with.

And finally, I took all of my sets and played with them for a few hours until I came up with this painters tray, I am certain if SU releases some more nautical themed stamps, I will edit this, but this is what I came up with for now.

The current sets I used were: The Open Sea, By the Tide, By the Seashore and Daring Adventure. I also used a few old sentiments from my stash. It will go in my living room bookshelf with my other sea things, like shells, a mini album of my kids at the beach and some fish knick knacks I have collected.

A little more of the open sea...

The Open Sea is by far one of my favorite stamps sets in the entire SU catalog! I am loving it! As I described yesterday, as a scuba diver, this set is close to my heart! I cannot believe it has taken me so long to play with this set! I really love it and wish the catalog had more nautical themed stamps! I used an old sentiment, but I am not sure what set it comes from, because I have taken my retired sets apart and have them filed by theme, so if you know what set the sentiment is from, feel free to give it a shout out, I haven't a clue!

The Open Sea and A little Daring Adventure

I have been dying to play with this set for some time now! I finally sat down and created a card, just for me, you see, as a scuba diver, I am naturally drawn to everything sea- inspired and my living room is decorated in ocean knick knacks, I have been wanting to create something with this set and I have just finished my first piece. I saw a frame on pinterest, I would like to case, and I think this will be the first piece for that frame, or maybe a painters tray. Anyway, sometimes, it is great to just create, without worrying about measuring and keeping track of supply costs and the like, I think I may just do a class with this set, not sure if I will get any takers but I am really inspired by this set and I am loving the way this first card came out, what do you think??

A little sponging, a little brayering, a little distressing and a whole lot of fun, I really do like the way this one came out, what do you think?

Embellished Events

Working on my next class using the Embellished Events Stamp Set, I have a few finishing touches to add to these cards, but I am waiting on my next SU delivery. Is there no end to the inspiration on pinterest?

I never feel right creating one Birthday card, without one for the opposite sex for a class. This Print Poetry pack has the perfect reversible papers to make both a male and female birthday card.

It took me a long time to figure out how to do these wedding bells, but I do like the way this came out. I just ordered some brushed gold paper and I may have to play with this one a little more once it arrives
I actually changed the sentiment to Thankyou after I took the picture, but I love this one, as soon as my new shipment arrives I will add the in color dahlias to this one, like the one on pinterest that inspired it.
This one is not my favorite, but I like the paper for Christmas, I am sure this one will have a few more tries before I decide on the final version
This one, I really like, but of course I need a girl baby card to go with it, just not sure that print poetry has the best paper for a baby girl, going to have to play with it a little bit more. I like the way the baby board card came out.

This is my favorite of the bunch, I really like the way it came out, I am thinking about reworking the sentiment a bit, but overall, I am happy with it, it just needs something else...

Please leave your comments and tell me what you think of these, any ideas for improving them?

A couple embellished events

I am always trying to come up with simple cards that aren't supply intensive to do with customers to convince them to stamp and of course purchase products. Of course, I am never happy with the simple cards, I started an entire class and ended up doing only these three cards before tossing the rest of the class........ Grr.... Oh well, it was a rough day and sometimes, I just need to play with paper to feel better, even if it doesn't amount to the best projects

Don't forget to comment now thru Feb 14 so you can enter for a chance to win this set..... You can comment on any post from now until then, each comment will win you an entry.

Print Poetry Sweet Essentials Class Part 2

I have been working on this class all week, I am excited about most of the cards, some of them are not my favorites, but I am so happy with others, they are just gorgeous! You can see the other 5 cards here, if you missed them

I can never get enough of the Manhattan Flower embossing folder, I think I could use this until it falls apart. Blue and Brown together are one of my favorite color combinations, I love the way they look together.
I wanted to get a male and a female birthday card out of the papers I was using and there were some great papers in the Print Poetry pack, but I was running out of scraps (using only one of each two-sided pattern) So, I had to come up with these two cards using the scraps I had remaining from the other cards, I think they came together okay, I still think the female Birthday card could use something more behind the packages, but, I didn't want to bust out any more papers for it.

Earlier this week, I played in the LNS color challenge, which inspired me for this card, In retrospect, I think this patterned paper might have been perfect for the birthday card, I might play with the papers a little bit more and see if I can come up with the right combination. Besides, I like the way these flowers came out better than the ones I I did for the SO Kind of you card, so, I might need to play a little more to get the right combination.
Finally, I love this little baby, but I think again, the card needs something else, I was all out of paper and just used scraps to make a heart border, but I am not sure I am happy with the way it came out, so this one is probably going back to the drawing board too.

Finally, don't forget there is blog candy available, just comment on any post from the week (one entry per comment) and I will draw the winner tomorrow for this great set from the sale-a-bration catalog. Read more details here

A sneak peak of my next class: Print Poetry Sweet Essentials

I have been working hard on my next class, Print Poetry Sweet Essentials and wanted to share a peak at the first few cards. This class is heavy in Sizzix die cut elements and features the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper and the Sweet Essentials Stamp set. Of course, it is heavily inspired by Pinterest.
I am trying to feature various punches, dies and techniques in this class, I really hope I haven't over done it, but I just can't help myself.

The colors are rich and vibrant and I am excited about all the items from the framelits collection that I was able to feature in this class.
Inking, Stamping, Sponging, Brayering and die cuts are all featured in this class.
What do you think of these cards, I think this one below,is my favorite, You can't see it in this photo, but the card base is also Basic Black.
That's all I have today, I was very busy this week preparing for my workshop tomorrow.
Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win blog candy on Sunday.
