Exploding Box - Bella Rosa

I started working on this last night, an exploding box for mothers day. I used SU Bella Rosa Paper. I cut some flowers with my sizzix and used a border cutter to trim the inside. I am having a hard time using only SU products, since I only have my starter kit and a few other sets that I couldnt live without, but I didnt invest in a lot of embellishments, I figured I had enough, but, since I have all these workshops I am trying to prepare for, I wish I had more SU stuff.

Another Kind word stamp

Another stamp from the SU, A kind word collection, isnt she adoreable!? I also used prima flower and sizzix grass on the card, I am trying to demonstrate the sizzix more... she would be cute though, all by herself. Of course, I used my copics and a little bleach, I am stuck on this bleach technique I found in a magazine this month, didnt work out as nice on her sky as it did on the turtle though, not sure what i did wrong, I really like my post yesterday, the turtle came out soooo good. Guess I will just have to practice more. I was really hoping to submit this bleach technique, but I cant seem to get it working with the SU stamps, grrr, oh well, off to play some more!

First Ever Inky Impressions DT challenge

So, Inky Impressions is doing their first ever design team challenge, and I am submitting my first ever design team entry. I really had a difficult time picking which images to submit. I picked the turtle from whimsy, cuz, he is one of my favs and because, I really like the bleaching technique I used to add shadows to the water and sky and the background of the card. The other card I chose is from SU The Free and The Brave, I picked this image, because I dont see it around a lot and its one of my favorites, since I am in the military. Instead of going with the standard green, black and brown camo, I went with desert camo instead, or as we call them ABUs. I love this image, it is one of my favs to color and being in the military, I love that I can send this to deployed friends or use for military promotion ceremonies etc. I might have some better images in my inventory, but I guess being that these are two of my favs, they are the ones I want to submit as some of my best work. I did work on a little girl from my new SU a kind word set, but, I could only pick two and she was tied for my second choice with the military stamp, but, I dont want to break the rules and enter three, so, she will be in my next post. ;)

Fun and Fast notes is so versatile, it really is a great set, that covers any occassion! I was making these samples for an upcoming workshop too, trying to show how versatile they can be. Coupled with my Bigz Top Note Die, I think I can make a card for any occassion with just this set.

Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers #28

I came across this great little sisterhood while blog hopping today. I just had to join, maybe it will help me get some visitors to my measly little place of blogger space. I sure could use some traffic, how does one do that anyway? So, here is my little tidbit about me, I am a military woman (Air Force - for 19 years now) and avid scrapbooker and stamper. Stamping has kind of taken over my life recently, but I have been scrapping since 2003. I love love love all things paper. My friends ask me how i have time to do all my projects and crafts and my short answer is, I dont clean. Yup, my house is a mess, especially since I have three boys, but this is my confession, in order to scrap and stamp and papercraft my free time away, in a state of bliss, I have to step over the piles of laundry on the way to my scrapbook room. Shh!!!! Dont tell. As if this isnt enough, I teach classes at my local AC Moore, I am working on some online classes and a book and I just bit the bullet with Stampin Up and Memory-Makers, yep, a demo too.... Maybe I can make it rich sometime in the next three years before its time to retire from the Air Force and I can actually do this and get away with it!!! love yall

My First Demos

So, I finally got my SU kit and I am busy making my first Demos for my first workshop this week. The first cutie is from WOJ, no SU, but, I just had t play with her and my copics. My children kindly sat here and obliged me this week and took some sample workshops for me. This is a big deal, since I have three boys, but they actually had fun getting in my stamps and I enjoyed the family time as well as the fact that I was being productive. I am feeling a little worried about the quality of my stuff when I see some others samples out there. So, I am done with cards now and I am going to move onto the scrapbook pages and some other product samples. Its kind of funny that my scrapbooking got me here and then I found my way to stamping, something I never thought I would do, and now look at me, trying to start a stamping business, I must be CRAZY! So here are my samples, and no one still reads this silly blog anyway.... How does one get that going without joining a million challenges? I am a military working woman, who has time for that??
