Remember this post, and the great little card closet I made? Well, I spent my evening making some more beautiful dresses for my card closet, so have a look.
First off, I made a beautiful New Year's Eve dress, thinking about the party I could be at, if my SO was home, instead, I promised to stay home with the kids for family game night, which they all backed out of, lol, so I imagine myself wearing one of these beautiful dresses and dancing the night away.
I just had so many templates ( I actually still have quite a few I haven't used yet) I just couldn't stop making beautiful party dresses, imagine being Bell of the Ball in one of these beautiful gowns. I just love the Stampin Up Glimmer paper, don't you? The brushed silver and brushed gold paper make perfect gowns and the sizzix embossing plates make them look so beautiful! The Dazzling Details Silver Sparkle added a nice touch to the blue gown, don't you think?? The Wish Big dress used the Dazzling Details Silver Sparkle also, only, I opened it up and used a cotton swab to brush it on and bring out the embossing details. I did the same technique with the Worth the Wait dress top, to make it really sparkle!
The purple dress just reminded me of something to wear out with the girls or out on the town, maybe a date night, so I couldn't resist using the Carry On Stamp set with that one, I used a little bit of Lavender stickles on that one, just brushed on to give it a little detail, copic markers to give the dress some shape and the rest of the items are all Stampin Up.
You cant really tell the dress to the left is baby blue, and it really is a beautiful color, I wish it would've come out better in the picture. Again, I brushed on some of the dazzling details to give it a little shimmer. In order to give the dress some shape, I
rubbed the heck out of the paper with the bone folder to separate the two layers and then glued the bottom layer to the paper and the top layer, I crumbled up and spread back out and glued it back down before rubbing on the shimmer. I also used Copic Markers on this dress, to give it a little shape. I really love our SU Markers and how they are all color coordinated, but the copics blend in just enough that they can give your card some added dimensions, the SU markers just cant add.
I added the butterflies at the end, just to give it a little something more.
These two templates didn't come out as well as I hoped, but, I guess they can't all be perfect ;) I used the build a flower punch for the purple dress and embossed the dress with an embossing plate.
Finally, I had some shimmery pink shimmer in my stash that I was saving for some kind of dress, the top of the dress got a little ridiculous as I just kept working it and adding things to it to make it look better, not really certain I am happy with the way it came out, but my favorite, I think is my Be My Valentine Dress I used some of the red glimmer paper and a little silver ribbon trim I had laying around.
What do you think of my new card closet? Would you wear any of these dresses? I am really trying to get my readership up this year and get the comments rolling, so tell me which is your favorite and I will try and get some templates posted over the next few weeks for these dresses.
