Summer Afternoon Hostess Set and... Valentines Blog Candy
It has been a crazy week with my day job, I haven't been able to stamp or post all week... ;( So, I made a quick set of cards using this great hostess set, called Summer Afternoon. Maybe, I am ready for the cold weather to be over, but I really enjoyed playing with this set.
The first two cards, I used a baby wipe on my ink pad to get a water color effect, I really love the way it came out with subtle color and billowy look. What do you think about this technique? Have you tried it?The last card was inspired by split coast stampers, it wasn't an out and out case, but inspired by another card I saw there. I embossed the card stock with a Tim Holtz embossing folder, skimmed it over the top with some ink so I could give it a distressed look ( I just love the distressed look, I can never get enough) I did the other two cards after this one and I am super tempted to go back and add the water colored grass and sky to it as well.
Finally, this is what the stamp set looks like, AND, I am going to give one of these away to one lucky blog reader. I am trying to get some business traffic to my site, you can really help by leaving comments. All comments submitted between now and Feb 14 will be entered into a drawing for this great set on Valentines Day. So, Please, comment away for your chance to win! This is a hostess set, which retails for $17.95 clear mount and $23.95 wood mount.

So... What do you think? Do you think a class for beginners will be okay with this set of cards? Nothing too difficult, but several techniques and products are showcased. I am very excited about how they came out, I wish I could have come up with two baby cards but I am still happy with these. Maybe I can add the two baby cards later without using the DSP.
Remember to leave your comments for a chance at the blog candy! I will make the announcement of the winner later today!
Hugs!! Angi
