Asian Artistry Sample

I just got a box of sneak peek items in the mail today!! I am like a kid a Christmas when I get a new box of stuff! This card uses Asian Artistry and Kind and Caring thoughts (Since somehow I ordered the spanish version of Asain Artistry, I didnt have its sentiment to use, at least not in English) So, I used Kind and Caring thoughs, Another Sneak Peek set. The background stamp is Asian Artistry also, the colors are Old Olive and Melon Mambo, I also dyed some ribbon with my melon mambo reinker and if you look carefully you can see how inpatient I am, I had to put my ribbon on the card before it was compeltely dry, so now, I have Melon Mambo finger prints on my card, lol. Oh well! It just adds charachter! I colored the flower with my copics (gosh I love my copics) YG63 - Pea Green and RV34- Dark Pink. Happy Stampin!

Another Stamp of the week: Scene in a garden

This is another sample from the Scene in a Garden, stamp of the week. I used the new soft suede, chocolate chip and some more of the Autumn Harvest Rub-ons. I water colored the ground using soft suede, crushed curry, dusty durango, and a tad bit of old olive. I just love these Autumn Harvest Rub ons, they are sooooo pretty, it's not even officially summer and yet I am ready for the crisp air of fall, er, maybe it actually feels like fall out side, what is that anyway?

I think that these colors came together so prettily.

Last Chance Items I am going to miss the most!!

I am really going to miss some of the Last Chance stuff from the retiring Stamin Up! Catalog. While I can't wait for you to see some of the new stuff coming out, that means we have to say good bye to some of our favorites!

10. The Big Shot Starter kit was an excellent way to get your big shot and all the stuff you need to get started, including some dies to start with. If you dont have your big shot yet, you might want to take advantage of this last chance kit.

9. Simply Scrappin Kits - I love the Simply Scrappin kits and there are some really great ones coming out next month, but sweet nothings was my favorite, I am really going to miss it!

8. Key Tag Punch - Being in the military, I always thought this key tag punch made perfect dog tags! Unfortunately, you only have two weeks left to grab this punchie before its gone!

7. Tattoo Kits- These little buggers are perfect to entertain the kids at craft shows and I have been known to break them out and let the kids play with them while I am teaching their parents or hosting a workshop.... I am really sad to see them go, but even more sad to see they are not being replaced with new ones!

6. Scene in a garden, is the featured set this week, I really love this stamp set, I dont think I am going to part with it, even after it retires.... Maybe it will be on the dormant list (one can only hope ;)

5. Designer papers- I just cant get enough of these, Paper is what got me started in this hobby to begin with...Some of favs that I am really gonna miss: Candy Lane, Parisian breeze, Sweet always

4. The Free and The Brave - I love this set, again, since I am in the military, this set comes in very handy for promotions and military things and its perfect for making cards for heroes! I promise though, you are gonna like the new military set. But, dont forget to grab this one if you can!

3. I am really going to miss Bella Rose and Raspberry Tart, they are so pretty and I wish they were sticking around, I just dont feel like I have had my fill yet! I am actually going to miss these two packs of paper more than the ones listed in #5

2. Soft Summer - This great set is in the occassions mini and is not in the new catty! Again, I hope it makes the dormant list, cuz I really dont want to give it up! It is so versatile and pretty!

Finally, the thing I am going to miss the most, when we bid adieu to the current catty is..............
The In Colors, almost every one of them! Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, and Pacific Point, I could cry, having to say goodbye to these great colors!!!

Do you have a favorite thats going away? Don't miss your last chance to grab them!!!

I am lovin Parisian Breeze DSP and I am really gonna miss it, I can't get enough of it! I created this card, with another stamp from the "Thoughts of Father" Stamp set. I also used Timber Brown Staz On, Ranger, Walnut Stain Distress Ink, a flower from all the pretties kit (Stamped with En Francais, using Timber Brown Ink). I colored the image using my copics and the sentiment comes from Matchbox messages.

A Fathers Day Card Share

My Dad and I arent very close and I always have a hard time finding a card that suits him. For most of the last 20 years, I purchased something funny, cuz all those sappy sentiments don't really apply. Don't get me wrong, I love my dad and accept him as he is, but, I never felt comfortable giving cards that said things I really didnt feel. I just started making cards this year and decided with all the stuff I have laying around, there was no need to purchase a card this year, so I used Parisian Breeze DSP and Thoughts of Father Stamp set and this is what I came up with. Simple and attractive without saying something I dont mean. Now, I just need to get it in the mail ;)

Owl Whimsy - Asian Flair

I am a little disappointed with this final project. I stayed up last night to finish it in time for my DT deadline, and my camera batteries died. I got some new batteries today on my way home from work and came home to find iced tea spilled all over my scrap table...... (Yep today was the first day the kids stayed home from school) So, I felt terrible to begin with about not meeting my deadline. I cut out another tree and colored it, the design just wasnt working for me, I didnt have enough of last night's design to piece it together. ..... Anyway, I smudged my sentiment, which was the last thing I did, instead of stamping it first on the moon, in case I messed it up, Of course I messed it up and now its 11 and I am not going to redo it... again, so, here is what I turned in for design team, almost 24 hours late.... geez, how embarrasing! Sorry Steph! Anyway, hop on over to Owl Whimsy and see what the rest of the design team cooked up and join in this weeks challenge to win the newest set of digi stamps, I promise you wont be disappointed!!!!

Playing with Depth of field

I just love this technique, I cant get enough of it. After the last card, I noticed some Parisian Breeze DSP sitting on my table and the cute little flower from A Rose is A Rose, reminded me Parisian Breeze Pattern, so I trued to recreate it, using Sahara Sand, Baja Breeze and Pacific Point. I flipped the Parisian Breeze DSP over, and used the checkered side, so there wouldnt be too many flowers.

These colors are just beautiful together, arent they? Unfortunately, all these colors and DSP are also going away at the end of the month!

I grabbed to flowers from the All the pretties kit and used my reinker to dye one of them Pacific Point and the other Baja Breeze and used Baja Breeze ribbon. I didnt add a sentiment cause I liked it just the way it is. I guess I could add a tag with a sentiment hanging from the flower, that would make it perfect for most any occassion!

Depth of Field Technique

I have been loving all the sampes I have seen using the Depth of Field
Technique from the latest TJ newsletter. I had to give it a try.
It requires a bold stamp and I just used A Rose is a Rose last night to decorate
some lunch sacks for Sherill to send to RMH. Since it was still sitting on my table, I just grabbed it and went to town. I didnt have gray ink, crap, i just realized I couldve used a stampin Spot... Oh well, so I substituted the kiwi kiss in stead of gray and I used Pink Pirouette (So sad to see this one go) and Riding Hood Red. (gonna miss that one too!) As I started stamping, I realized the reason this one must have popped in my head is because it looks so similar to the Bella Rose papers. (Another one I am really going to miss!) Anyway, I really like the way it came out, Iadded a background of Bella Rose, of course! And this is what I came up with. I topped it off with some "hinges" using the window punch and some kiwi kiss brads and one of favorites, Full of Life stamps. I think I am off to do another one, I wish I could use the stamp of the week set on this technique, but, I just dont think it is a bold enough image..... oh well.... happy stampin!
